Set up a dissertation style document in Word including an automatic Table of Contents and correct page numbering.
Course Details
Audience: All YSJ alumni, students and staff
Format: One hour in person on York Campus
Prior knowledge: Basic Word skills equivalent to Word1
This course focuses on writing academic dissertation essays in Word, but the skills are useful for any Word document.
This course includes:
- Applying and amending heading styles
- Using the navigation pane and showing hidden formatting marks
- Controlling margins and line spacing
- Making sections start on a new page
- Adding page numbers and an automatic Table of Contents
- Using section breaks to change page number styles
- Using languages, spelling and grammar check
- Checking word count
- Saving your work to OneDrive, managing versions and Word Online
